Chalcolithic Age

The Chalcolithic Age, in Israel and the Levant, starts around 4500 BCE and lasts until roughly 3500 BCE. Although the Chalcolithic age remains one of the less studied archaeological strata in the Holy Land, there have still been many important finds from the era. From a Biblical perspective, the following events happened during the Chalcolithic Age.

The Creation,  Adam, Eve, Cain, Able, and other generations ending prior to the birth of Noah.

Type: Small Pyxis Jar
Age: 4000 BCE
Era: Chalcolithic/Early Bronze Age
Purchased in: Bethlehem, Israel
Excavated in: Hebron
Reference: Amiran, R. (1969) Ancient Pottery of the Holy Land. Photo 43 page: 49 for a near identical pot excavated at Ai.

Hebron is a very important city, one of the oldest in Israel. The Bible states that Abraham lived in Hebron for a short time, and King David reigned from Hebron for the first seven years. This jar, theoretically, could have been used at the time both of these Biblical hero's lived in the city.
